Transforming Your Surroundings

A charismatic model for city-fringe living inspired through heightened levels of connectivity, and intelligent design. The Artisan Apartments are well-positioned opposite the leafy green spaces of Kevin Taylor Park in the new Adelaide inner-city suburb of Bowden. The two, 5-Star Green rated, residential apartment buildings comprise of eighty-seven, two and three-bedroom apartments that have been designed to take full advantage of the natural light. Each apartment features modern, open planned living, and a full-height balcony ensuring residents take advantage of the breathtaking views. 

Our design inspiration hearkened back to the similar techniques used in industrial brick making, for this, Tectvs drew on the local heritage of the former ‘red brick’ Clipsal factory. Stacking, stepping, and framing were key design elements as was incorporating bold geometries into the materiality and form of the façade. The use of black steel; reclaimed red brick, and glass windows frame the building, its courtyard and lobby, and provide a focal point for a local artist masterpiece. Residents appreciate the connectivity between the architecture, interior, and landscape with a central courtyard providing a living, green oasis. The integrated timber seating encourages residents to meet, relax, and take full advantage of their surroundings.
